7th Annual Toys for Tots
Written by Administrator

All,
Attached is the flyer for our 7th Annual Toys for Tots Charity tournament.  All of the information is on the flyer except for nearby hotels, which will go up on our website www.desmoinesrugby.com soon.  This is a great tournament as everyone gets to play, is a fun tournament for a great cause, and all teams get a case of High Life (or High Life Light if you prefer).  There is a wheelbarrow raffle and the grill will be fired up again. There is (tentatively) going to be a vendor there as well.
Previous tournament pictures are also on our website, as well as the flyer (right hand side, click on the Toys for Tots Logo)
Last year we had a team from Springfield, ILL as the farthest away.
Please RSVP as soon as possible!
Thanks!
Luther

All-Iowa Memo from JJ

Wednesday, 30 April 2008

All,

Coming into this weekend, I realized we haven't had much communication regarding the All-Iowa.

There will be a captain's meeting at 8:00 a.m., with matches starting at 9:00.  Schedule will likely change between now and Saturday a.m., so each club should be prepared to play at 9:00.

All players must be CIPP registered, or they will not be allowed to set foot on the pitch.  All clubs must be current on USA Rugby club registration as well as up to date on payment of Midwest and Iowa union dues.

Coming into the meeting, I expect each club to list all players on the attached form that will be playing for them.  Please print off a copy of your USA Rugby Club Roster, which can be found at the following location:

DropKick Photos at 2008 All-Iowa

DropkickPhotos (www.dropkickphotos.com <http://www.dropkickphotos.com>)
will have two photographers at the All Iowa Tournament.

If a club wants to make sure we photograph them in action a $20 match
fee will assure we're at that match.

Otherwise we'll be shooting random matches of our own choosing; with all
the games it's not possible to cover every game.

Any questions -- you can write Rob Wagner at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

Who will win the 2008 All-Iowa?

Law of the Day

LAW 18 MARK: To make a mark, a player must be on or behind that player’s 22-metre line. A player with one foot on the 22-metre line or behind it is considered to be ‘in the 22’. The player must make a clean catch direct from an opponent’s kick and at the same time shout “Mark”. A mark cannot be made from a kick off, or a restart kick except for a drop out.
